West Brom in talks with Tony Mowbray
According to a DOOD club insider, West Brom are in talks with former Baggies boss Tony Mowbray. The 61-year-old, who managed the club between 2006 and 2009, is out of work but appears ready to return after recent illness and is in talks with those at the Hawthorns.
DOOD approached Xu claiming that the length of the contract offered “could be a stumbling block”, but discussions are ongoing.
Mowbray, who plays a 4-2-3-1 system, was recently hailed by an expert Carlton Palmer amid links to a return to the club, describing the manager as a “great coach”.
“It is a very difficult situation that West Brom are in, they have a very talented team and they have a chance to secure another place in the play-offs. I’m a very big fan of Tony Mowbray, he’s recovered from cancer, he’s a great coach and a great person.”

Palmer then added: “We know how good a coach Tony Mowbray is and how well he works with young players, but it’s difficult to decide because we don’t know the financial circumstances in terms of recruiting players.
“If you’re a manager, it seems like the right time to go in with the transfer window open and if they can bring a striker into this talented squad then they’ll certainly be good enough to make the play-offs.”
Mowbray, who won two out of nine games against West Brom in the last six years, winning the second division title with the Baggies in 2008, so he could look for another promotion to the Premier League in the Midlands, making this the place to watch.
