Adam Milne’s double strike rattles Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in ILT20 2025.
Milne’s brilliance began with a layoff Phil Salt in the third over. Milne delivered a slightly fuller ball that swung sharply into the stumps. Salt, trying to expand expansively through the covers, failed to explain the attacker. A significant gap between his bat and pad allowed the ball to crash into the stumps, leaving him bowled for 2 off 7 balls, with a strike rate of 28.57.
Milne continued his onslaught just three deliveries later, this time with a delivery Kyle Mayers back to the pavilion with absolute class delivery. A full and pitched ball is angled into middle leg and late shaped with some superb seaming movement. Mayers, in great form with a blistering 21 off 9 balls (2 fours and 2 sixes, 233.33 SR), misjudged the line, playing across to mid-wicket. The ball beat his bat and cleared the off-stump, leaving the Knight Riders reeling at 26/2.
Milne’s spell was a masterclass in swing bowling, displaying pace, precision and control. His figures of 1.5 overs, 2 wickets for just 9 runs, underlined his dominance in the game. These early inroads put the Knight Riders under immense pressure, denting their momentum and exposing their middle order to the new ball. Milne’s stroke of the ball set the tone for his side’s management throughout the game, highlighting his value as a game-changing bowler.
