Davante Adams fueled Packers reunion rumors after the Jets’ move disappointed
New York Jets veteran receiver Davante Adams fueled speculation about a possible reunion with the Green Bay Packers after his comments about his former team’s needs for the 2025 season.
The Packers was knocked out of the playoffs early with a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, despite reaching the postseason for the second straight year as the youngest roster in the league. Green Bay has struggled all season playing against polished teams, losing six games to teams that finished 11-6 or better.

Much of that centered around a talented but young receiving room, and for Adams, that will be the focus for the Packers this offseason.
“I just think it kind of depends on the health of the team,” he said Tuesday while visiting the “Up & Adams” show.
“Obviously right now it looks like they might need some receiver help one way or another just based on what they have available. Maybe a veteran or something in there. I don’t know, we’ll see.”

The comments prompted speculation on social media that Adams could be talking about himself, especially given the season he had in New York after reuniting with his former quarterback, Aaron Rodgers.
The Jets extended their historic playoff drought after finishing the season 5-12. The team has undergone significant changes, including the search for a new head coach and a new general manager.
There is also the possibility that Rodgers will not return.

The two played eight seasons together in Green Bay, and Rodgers’ decision will undoubtedly play a role in Adams’s.
On Monday, he said this season has been a “whirlwind” and he’s not sure what his next step will be. Adams is set to make $35.64 million in each of the next two years.
