“Kaun hai? Kiski baat kar rahe ho?”: Kapil Dev gives a stunning reply to Yograj Singh’s viral video claims

Nowadays, it is rare for former cricketers to clash with each other over actions during their careers. But Yograj Singhfather of celebrated Indian all-rounder and former World Cup winner Yuvraj Singhcaused controversy by revealing a shocking incident between him and Kapil Dev. The former Indian skipper indirectly replied to Yograj without directly confronting him.

Kapil Dev denied that he confessed to Yograj Singh

Kapil Dev, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, was spotted arriving at the event and started an argument with reporters, who surrounded him and demanded a response to Yograj’s remarks. The former World Cup winner deliberately seemed not to understand what the journalists wanted to ask.

“Kaun hai? Kaun hai? Kiski baat kar rahe ho? (Who is he? Who is he? Who are you talking about?) Dev asked, as if he didn’t know who Yograj was. The paparazzi even told him that they meant Yuvraj’s father Yograj, but Dev seemed to avoid what they wanted to ask.

But the conversation between the former Indian skipper and media persons seemed to have reached a point where questions for Dev were inevitable. He then resorted to ignoring the paparazzi’s mention of Yograj and asked if there was anything else they wanted to ask him.

“Acchaa, aur kuch? (Anything else)” was Dev’s reaction when reporters mentioned Yograj’s name. Kapil and Yograj played together for several years. In 1977, voters chose Yograj over Dev for U-22 national team of India playing against England in Nagpur. Yograj made his debut in Indian cricket team during the 1980 tour Australia and New Zealand. However, he was mysteriously dropped from the team after the tour. Yograj played his last ODI for India on 15 February 1981 against New Zealand.

What did Yograj Singh say?

In an interview with Samdish Bhatiaa widely popular YouTuber who appears on a YouTube channel called ‘Unfiltered with Samdish’, Yograj spoke about his relationship with Dev.

“When Kapil Dev became the captain of India, North Zone and Haryana, he dropped me for no reason. My wife wanted me to ask Kapil questions. I told her I was going to teach this damn man a lesson.” Yograj said during an interview.

“I took out my gun; I went to Kapil’s house in Sector 9. He came out with his mother. I abused him ten times. I told him I lost a friend because of you and you will pay for what you did. I said to him, ‘I want to blow your head off, but I won’t do it because you have a very pious mother standing here.’ I said to Shabnam, ‘Let’s go,'” he added further, revealing the incident that happened between him and Dev.

Yograj further added that the two former Indian cricketers have not met or contacted each other since then. However, after India won the 2011 World Cup, Yograj sent Dev a scrap of paper and told him that his son (Yuvraj) had done better than Dev.

“Kapil sent me a WhatsApp message saying we will be brothers in the next life. We will be born from the same mother in the next life. He wanted to meet me. But there is revenge, and it still hurts.” Yograj concluded.
