Tottenham are now keen to sign a “brilliant” new £15million striker ahead of Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur now they want to beat rivals Chelsea to signing a new striker, according to a new report, as Ange Postecolgou looking to add more firepower to his side in the January transfer window.
Tottenham transfer news
Spurs Premier League campaign has not gone to plan so far, the Lilywhites have lost 10 of their 20 games and are currently languishing in 12th place.
Their squad was torn apart by injury and suspension, with Postecoglou having to field a makeshift XI thanks to a host of injuries in defense that saw Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Ben Davies, Radu Dragusin and goalkeeper Gugliemo Vicario all miss parts of the season.
Spurs have already been busy in the days since the January transfer window opened, signing Antonin Kinsky in a £12.5m dealand the Czech goalkeeper made his debut in the opening Carabao Cup win over Liverpool.
However, there are many other parts of the squad that still need strengthening in the remainder of the winter transfer window. last week, Postecoglou insisted that Spurs had been working ‘very hard’ in order to close more deals.
“We still have a lot to play for this year to make it a season where we can have success. But we need help, the players need help, more importantly, and the club is working very hard to make it happen.”
One area Spurs will need to add to is the heart of the defense despite the form of Archie Gray, while they have also been linked with more energetic midfielders, with both Tijani Reijnders and Davide Frattesi among those who dealt with the switch for North London.

However, they are now being linked with a relatively cheap move for the new striker, provided they can fight off interest from Chelsea.
Tottenham target EFL striker
It comes after reports in Spain claim Tottenham have showing a keen interest in West Brom striker Josh Maj as they look for cover for Dominic Solanke.
The Nigerian forward is enjoying an excellent campaign in the Championship and hit the net 12 times so far this season after a difficult 2023/24.
That has reportedly caught the eye of the Premier League, with Tottenham and Chelsea also thought to be interested in his services. For Spurs, his arrival would help take some of the burden of signing Dominic Solanke.
Although this role is supposedly filled by Richarlison, the Brazilian has not been able to maintain his form regularly in recent seasons, making just five appearances in the Premier League this season.

Maja received great praise from the experts this season Carlton Palmer called it “brilliant” earlier in the campaign, and although he is 26, he could prove to be a smart signing.
According to the report, both Spurs and Chelsea are showing “increasing interest” and are chasing his signature, while West Brom want to keep him. It adds that he is estimated to cost around £15m if he moves this January.
For that money, he could prove a tricky team signing for the Spurs.
