Today on Sky Sports Racing: Lingfield and Wolverhampton host competitive Flat action on Monday | Racing news
Lingfield and Wolverhampton take center stage on Monday, with both tracks hosting all-weather action live on Sky Sports Racing.
2.00 Lingfield – Clash of the Bedford Flyer and The Thames Boatman
Trained by Michael Appleby Bedford Flyer is remarkably consistent on all weathers – especially at Lingfield – and continued his good run last time when he finished a close third behind smart rival Kylian. He comes here from an unchanged point and will be dangerous if allowed an easy lead over his favorable course and distance of five furlongs in Weekly £5 Free Bet with BetUK Handicap.
Boatman of the Thames is another who likes the track and the distance, having been three of four on the track and finishing just behind Bedford Flyer on the final day. He had a hard time getting conditions then, but this looks a shade easier and he will be competitive.
Michaela’s boy was in the winner’s circle on his last start at Wolverhampton over the festive period. This time he is 1lb bigger and guarantees his chance for Robert Cowell’s team.
1.30 Lingfield – Tadreeb is chasing a hat-trick
Since joining Rod Millman, Tadreeb he has won both starts and seems to have a real affinity for jockey Oliver Searle who takes a valuable 5lb off his back. He won the shade comfortably despite hanging last time and carries a penalty of 4lb for Gamble responsibly at BetMGM Handicap.
Super Hit joining Darryll Holland’s yard since his win at Chelmsford last start for Marco Botti. He was obviously primed just before the sale to go well and is coming back for new links 5lb more. Tony Carroll is a dangerous man to ignore at this stage of the year and his horse Charlie Mason ran Tadreeb near January 3rd.
7.00 Wolverhampton – Havana Sky returns
Havana sky he is currently second in the all-weather Horse of the Year and looks to continue his good run despite being beaten last time out on the trip. A move back to six furlongs will certainly suit him and he remains rated 71 for BetUK: Here UK bets on the handicap.
Rebel Path was last seen winning at Chelmsford for Stuart Williams in a competitive handicap. Olivia Haines took 7lb off his back last time and is doing the same again.
He will face Philip Kirby in training Kitabwho is consistent and makes his first start this year with Cam Hardie. He is 2lb for his last start when he was hit on the nose.
