This is where first responders can get free food in California


As the Los Angeles area continues to battle wildfires, here are a few restaurants — local and national chains — that are offering free meals to firefighters and other first responders.

Be sure to check with each individual restaurant as these offers may vary from location to location.

All promotions were current at the time of writing.

Blaze Pizza

Nine Blaze Pizza locations in Southern California offer the first emergency services of a free 11″ pizza. (plain or with one topping) through Sunday, Jan. 12, the chain said in a Jan. 10 Instagram post.

“We hope everyone is safe,” Blaze Pizza said.

Fat Sal’s Deli

The California sandwich shop is offering a free meal to first responders at several of its locations, the restaurant said in a Jan. 9 Instagram post.

“To our incredibly brave first responders – when you get a moment, enjoy a free meal at our locations in Hollywood, Westwood, Encino, Venice and Culver City,” the post read.

In-N-Out Burger

Select locations in Southern California are offering free meals for firefighters. In addition, the company has stationed its “cooking trucks” next to restaurant locations near the fire.

“We were honored to provide free meals for firefighters with our cooking trucks and at our locations near areas heavily impacted by the fires,” In-N-Out posted on its Instagram page.

KFC

KFC offers free KFC bowls to first responders, including law enforcement officers, members of the emergency medical services, members of the fire department and “members of the military involved in the rescue (carrying their identification card),” the company said in a statement released Friday, Jan. 10.

The free bowls are available until Monday, January 20 at participating restaurants in the region. A list of participating restaurants is available on KFC’s website.

Normino

The Southern California-based diner chain is offering firefighters and police officers free entry until Jan. 12 at 11 p.m., according to its website.

This offer is not valid at the Las Vegas location.

Shake Shack

First responders can get a free Shackburger at any Los Angeles County Shake Shack location through Sunday, Jan. 12, the company announced on X Jan. 8.

The burgers are “a small thank you for all you do,” the post said.

sizzler

Sizzler locations in Van Nuys, Los Feliz, Palmdale and Culver City, California are offering free meals to firefighters and evacuees.

“Please come for a free hot meal,” Sizzler posted Thursday afternoon on Facebook and X. “Just let our cashier know you’re here for the fire relief meal,” the post read.

Meal options include a six-ounce steak, six jumbo crispy shrimp, or a Malibu chicken entree, complete with a side and fountain drink.
