Mark Zuckerberg Praises Benefits of ‘Male Energy’, Calls Corporate America ‘Culturally Castrated’
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is done with the “culturally neutered” elements of corporate America and embraces “masculine energy” as DEI programs are faltering.
“It’s one thing to say that we want to be kind of welcoming and create a good environment for everybody, and I think it’s another thing to say that ‘masculinity is bad,’ and I just think that we’ve kind of culturally veered toward that part—sort of—of the spectrum,” Zuckerberg said during his recent interview with Joe Rogan.
Zuckerberg, who grew up with only sisters and now has only daughters, told Rogan that he wants women to succeed but doesn’t think masculinity needs to be categorized as “toxic” for that to happen.
The tech billionaire credits martial arts for changing his mind about masculinity, telling Rogan that dealing with his male friends where they can “beat each other up” is a “positive experience” for him.
“I think a culture that celebrates aggression a little more has its benefits that are really positive,” Zuckerberg added.
The release of the Joe Rogan Experience episode came on the same day Meta ended its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs.
The company reportedly cited changes in the “legal and policy landscape surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion efforts” in a memo from the Met’s vice president of human resources, Janelle Gale.
“The term ‘DEI’ has also come under fire, in part because it is understood by some as a practice that suggests preferential treatment of some groups over others,” Gale wrote in the memo.
META TERMINATES CORPORATE DEI PROGRAM
In addition, Meta’s policy revision included an order to remove tampons from men’s restrooms.
Meta also announced the end of its controversial fact-checking policy, with Zuckerberg saying “it’s time to return to our roots of free expression on Facebook and Instagram.” Fact Checkers will be replaced by “X-like” Community Notes.
The CEO also acknowledged that despite a “good faith” attempt to “address concerns” about misinformation online, there was “too much censorship” and called the recent presidential election a “cultural turning point.” He falsely fact-checked that they were “too politically biased” and said they “destroyed more trust than they deserved.”
The tech giant will reportedly remove transgender and non-binary adjustment topics from its Messenger app and change its “hateful conduct” policy to allow criticism of gender identity, The New York Times reports.
Meta is not alone in this cultural shift away from DEI policies. Big companies have begun rolling back their diversity programs following President-elect Trump’s decisive victory.
