Judge extends Megan Thea Stallion’s protective order against rapper Tory Lanez until 2030.

Megan Thee Stallion was granted a restraining order against incarcerated rapper Tory Lanez until early 2030.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Richard Bloom on Thursday granted Megan’s request for a protective order after the hip-hop star alleged Lanez harassed her from prison through a surrogate while serving a 10-year sentence for shooting her in the feet.

The order was issued after a hearing. Michael Hayden, Lanez’s attorney, wrote in an objection to the restraining order that his client’s incarceration means there is “no longer any form of current or future threat” to Megan and that there has been no recent direct contact between the two.

A summary of Thursday’s hearing said Bloom found Megan’s attorneys met their burden of proof to extend the temporary restraining order until Jan. 9, 2030.

Hayden did not immediately return a message seeking comment Friday.

Canadian rapper Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years for shooting Megan Thee Stallion

A US judge sentenced Canadian rapper Tory Lanez to 10 years in prison on Tuesday for shooting and injuring hip-hop superstar Megan Thee Stallion.

Megan was granted a temporary restraining order in November after she alleged that Lanez, a Canadian rapper whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was using third parties to continue harassing her online.

The petition says call logs at the California Penitentiary in Tehachapi show that Lanez coordinated attacks on Megan’s credibility, including false claims that the gun and bullet casing parts were missing.

In December 2022, Lanez was convicted of three felonies: assault with a semi-automatic firearm; have a loaded, unregistered firearm in the vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

The judge denied a request for a new trial by Lanez’s lawyers, who appealed his conviction.

Megan testified during the trial that Lanez fired a gun at her feet and yelled at her to dance as she walked away from the SUV they were both in after leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home.

Megan, 29, was already a huge rising star at the time of filming, and her music has grown in popularity since then. She won a Grammy for Best New Artist in 2021 and had #1 singles with Savagewith Beyoncé, and as a guest on Cardi B’s WAP.

Lanez, 32, began releasing mixes in 2009 and has seen a steady rise in popularity, moving on to major label albums. His last two reached the Top 10 on the Billboard charts.
