In a deal that would begin Graham Potter age with a bang, West Ham United were reportedly given the chance to sign “one of the best strikers in the world” at a reduced price in the January transfer window.

Bringing Julen Lopetegui’s tenure to an end after defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City and poor results during the current campaign, West Ham have since turned to Potter, who has taken his first job in football since being shown the door at Chelsea in 2023.

According to GiveMeSport, West Ham have now been offered the chance to sign Jonathan David at a cut price from Lille, who have another chance to cash in on their striker this month before he leaves on a free transfer in the summer.

Still only 24 years old, the Canada international would be an incredible coup for the Hammers. He could solve their scoring woes for years to come and finally ease the burden on Bowen, who has carried their front line more than once over the years.
With the cut price, West Ham should also jump at the chance to secure the forward’s signature ahead of the chase waiting to snap him up for free at the end of the campaign.
