Democrat Rep. Jayapal for blaming ‘corporations’ for LA wildfires

Conservatives on Xu disputed Jayapal’s claims and argued that the devastation caused by the natural disaster was exacerbated by government incompetence and mismanagement rather than climate change allegedly caused by corporations.
“Did climate change fail to clear brush for YEARS? Did they fail to plan for generator needs? Did they fail to provide proper fire hydrants? Did they fire firefighters who refused the COVID vax?” former Republican congressional candidate Robby Starbuck asked the congresswoman.
Popular conservative outlet “End Wokeness” corrected the congresswoman, saying, “You misspelled Dem mismanagement.”
Similarly, journalist Tom Elliott stated, “If by corporations you mean politicians, then you’ve made it.”
Conservative columnist Tim Young asked, “Corporations started a fire and mismanaged California’s first responder resources? Sit down.”
Author Jim Hanson posted a sarcastic response, saying, “I didn’t know McDonalds failed to fill the tanks and cut the LAFD budget by $17 million. How dare they.”
Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-Wis.he joked: “Democratic lawmaker blames Ronald McDonald, Grimace and Hamburglar for causing wildfires.”
The Spectator’s editor, Stephen Miller, announced: “She’s right. McDonald’s should close every restaurant and move all jobs out of California.”

As wildfires have ravaged large swathes of Los Angeles County since Tuesday — so far killing ten people, destroying thousands of homes and forcing more than 130,000 people to evacuate the area — people calling out the local government for contributing to the destruction.
Vanity Fair reporter Nick Bilton called out Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for budget cuts to the LA Fire Department last year, as well as her overseas travel during the inferno.
He shared on X: “Karen Bass cut fire department funding by over $17 million. She was in Ghana when the fires started, even though she knew about them (as did we all), days before. This should have been treated like a cat 5 hurricanes before it started, but instead our current mayor treated it as not important enough to even be here.”
Los Angeles Times owner dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong also ripped the mayor for cutting the LAFD budget, though his number was incorrect, as it was a $17 million cut.
“The LA fires are unfortunately no surprise, yet the mayor cut the LA fire department’s budget by $23 million. And the reports of empty hydrants raise serious questions,” he wrote. “Competence matters.”

Even Hollywood celebrities called out the city administration for dropping the ball during the tragedy.
“The city of LA you want everyone to evacuate and you have a complete gridlock and not a single traffic cop on the roads to help,” actress Sarah Michelle Gellar wrote on Instagram.
And influencer and model Amber Rose asked on the same platform: “How TF is there Low water pressure in Los Angeles???? WTF Fire hydrants barely work here??? This is insane!”
