According to a Spanish media source, Arsenal are interested in signing Luiz on loan from Juventus in Januaryeven if they already have quality midfield options in his position.
They have reportedly joined three other top English sides – Fulham, Man United and Tottenham – in the pursuit, and if reports of Luiz’s potential departure start to heat up further, it could lead to a very intriguing transfer saga.
“He is playing weaker than we all expected, but we are talking about a strong player,” said Villa’s sports director Monchi he said about Luiz to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“There are guys who arrive and impose themselves, others who need time. Patience is needed, but Douglas’ qualities are not disputed. He will become important for Juve.
“He is a playmaker and every ball that comes out of his feet has its meaning: last year he played 90% of the games with us. He was determined.”
