An Altadena boy describes the terrifying moments that led to the loss of his home
Southern California homes and businesses are still on fire tonight and there seems to be no end in sight.
Celebrities are taking to social media to express their disappointment at losing their homes and flashy cars, but one family in Altadena is mourning the loss of something much more.
In an interview with Fox 11, the Altadena boy stands next to his mother and brother. In the background you can see the mangled walls and bricks of what appears to be a house, along with the burned remains of many other homes that were lost.

The boy seems to keep his composure as he recounts scary moments leading to the loss of his home as he desperately held on to the only two things he had left in this world.
“And then – the electricity went out… and then we wanted to pick up dad, but he was coming. Then we had electricity, lamps, they are so good and I went and they woke us up, me and my brother. And then we left from our house,” said the boy.
He said items in the house were burned, including his prized 3D printer.
“It was so special to me and it will make me a little sad, but, I don’t know why, but this happened to our house,” said the boy. “And a lot of what I love is gone. And now, it’s all broken and discolored and stuff. And these are the only things I have.”
The boy, who is visibly disappointed, shows the reporter the remains of his father’s and mother’s bicycle and says that he wanted to come to the place of his former house to see what was broken and to see what was left.
“I wanted to check it and see if it was broken, and my dad took a video of it being broken,” he says. “We went here for today so we know what happened and that was our chimney where Santa comes and now he’s gone. Now we can’t get presents here anymore.”
This is it case for thousands while a forest fire rages throughout the area.

The mother took to social media to express her mental exhaustion over the incident as the family tries to sort out their lives. She said the brand new 3D printer mentioned in her son’s interview was one they had been waiting for for over a year.
She noted how quickly it all happened, saying it was so quick and she didn’t think much of the fire until it spread, fueled by the wind.
“Everything happened so fast. We thought there would be time to go back, to save more of our things, but in less than 5 hours, the entire neighborhood was destroyed. We grabbed our kids, our 2 dogs, and left with what little what we had could carry,” her post read. “We were blessed to find a hotel in DTLA that we’ve been in since Wednesday morning. While we’re thankful to be safe, the pain of losing everything is overwhelming. People often say, ‘The most important thing is that you’re alive.’ ‘ While that’s true, it doesn’t take away the heartbreak of loss.”
Fox News Digital has reached out to the family for comment, but understandably, they, like many families, have a lot to do as they rebuild what they’ve worked so hard to build.

The Eaton Fire, burning in the Pasadena-Altadena area northeast of Los Angeles, is one of several fires ravaging the city of Angeles. Nearly 30,000 hectares were engulfed in fires and nearly 15,000 homes and buildings were at risk as of Thursday – up from 13,000 on Wednesday morning. Firefighters struggled to contain the blazes, fueled by strong Santa Ana winds.
