GOP lawmaker, 81, receives medical treatment after fall at US Capitol
Republican Rep. Virginia Foxx, RN.C., drew attention after she fell on US Capitol Friday, Fox News has learned.
Foxx, who chairs the House Education Committee, reportedly fell on the stairs on the GOP side of the Capitol shortly after House voted to re-elect Rep. Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The congresswoman, 81, was bleeding after the incident and was treated by Capitol medical staff.

The congresswoman appeared to have a bloody nose, but it is not known if she suffered any serious injuries.
Foxx was seen walking after the incident and was reportedly being led by medical workers to a Capitol doctor’s office.
Congresswoman with a humorous post on social networks, assured that she is fine after the fall.

“Thank you all for your prayers – just a few small cuts and I’m fine,” Foxx wrote in a post on X. “I’m a mountain woman and we’re tougher than a $2 steak.”
