Nottingham Forest make first move to sign ‘decisive’ ace £132k-p/w for Nunn

In their desire to cement their place in the Champions League once and for all, Nottingham Forest now they have reportedly made contact to sign the Serie A midfielder who knows all about finishing inside Premier Leaguethe first four.

Nottingham Forest transfer news

Six wins on the bounce and level on points with second-placed Arsenal in the Premier League, Nottingham Forest are proving a moot point as the season enters its second half. It’s even worth noting that next year they have the chance to become the first team to do the double against Arne Slott’s Liverpool and remain the only side to defeat the Reds in league action so far this season.

Watch out Wood: Nottingham Forest could land their Gyokeres in £35m ace

Nottingham Forest could target further attacking reinforcements to bolster their top four hopes.

Defeat Sloto’s side once again and Nuno Espirito SantoHigh-flying Forest will find themselves just three points behind the leaders, who will have at least a game in hand to close the gap. If the likes of Chris Wood perform at their level against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the coming weeks, then the title race could have a shock entrant.

The January transfer window could boost their impressive campaign even more. According to The Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest have made contact with Douglas Luiz from Juventus this month on what is likely to be a short-term loan move away from the Serie A giants.

Having struggled since his arrival in Turin, Luiz could now get a much-needed chance to return to the Premier League and rediscover his best form. A move to Nottingham Forest would not be without controversy, however, with the Brazilian having spent a number of years at Aston Villa and even helping the Villans to the Champions League last season.

A “resolute” Luiz would cement Nottingham Forest’s ambitions

Just as he did for Midlands rivals Aston Villa last season, Luiz could seal Forest’s Champions League ambitions by completing a January move and a much-needed fresh start away from Juventus – albeit only on a short loan.

Earnings reported £132,000 a week in Serie A, it will be interesting to see how much of Luiz’s hefty salary Nottingham Forest are willing to match, and how much Juventus themselves will pay to send their midfielder out on loan.

The former Villa man is certainly worth a gamble this month, having still earned plenty of plaudits during a troubled campaign so far. Among those with a lot of positive attitudes is the sports director of Aston Villa Monchiwho told reporters as he broadcast Tribal Football earlier this month: “He plays less than we all expected, but we are talking about a strong player.

“There are guys who arrive and impose themselves, others who need time. Patience is necessary, but Douglas’s qualities are not discussed. He will become important for Juve. He is a playmaker and every ball that comes out of his feet has meaning: last year he played 90% of the games with us were decisive.”
