World Food Program Wars a million more Somalians face food uncertainty

A million people in Somalia risk pushing themselves further into food uncertainty, adding 3.4 million already confronted with critical hunger levels. The World Food Program advises that the combination of drought and inflation has left a quarter of the population without anything to eat. This comes only three years after the country faced the edge of hunger caused by the longest drying ever recorded in its history. Hundreds of thousands of people risk losing their lives in countries such as Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia and Niger, in malnourished communities. Jean-Martin Bauer, director of food and nutritional analysis at the World Food Program, joins us at a discussion on the topic.
