Every year, March 21, World Day of Down Syndrome (WDSD) marks the Global Day of Consciousness and Education on Genetic Conditions.
The goal is “to help people understand and support those with Syndrome Better “, according to the initiative website. The United Nations officially watched WDSD since 2012.
On Friday, Fox News Tom Shillue headed for Times Square in New York to talk to New Yorkers about their WDSD awareness. (Watch the video at the top of this article.)

“I think the most important thing is that if you have Down syndrome as well as any other disability, you can live abundant life And there is nothing to fear, “he said.

“It’s really fun to be around. It’s kind of strange to see all the others compared to her, where she’s so happy and everyone else just walk around with her head down.”

Down syndrome is the most common chromosomal condition.
Every year, about 5000 babies with Down syndrome, or one on every 775, is born in the US, according to the National Society of Down Syndrome.
