"Under my captain you will see a lot …" – Handable Axar Patel remarks after an exciting victory against LSG
Delhi Capitals led by Axara Patel (DC) opened its campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 with a match against Rishabh Pant, led by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Monday, March 24th.
Delhi Capitals won against Lucknow Super Giants in an exciting fourth match of the season 1 Wickket at Cricket Stadium Dr. YSR Reddy Aca-Vdca, Visakhapatnam.

Bowling first in the match, DC was destroyed by Nicholas Poran and Mitchell Marsh, but they pulled things back to limit the LSG to 209/8. While they were chasing the target, they were reduced to 3/7, but Ashutosh Sharma, Tristan Stubbs and Vipraj Nigam came great on DC to an exciting victory.
Speaking after the game, Axar Patel said fans should get used to seeing this type of match under his captain. He said:
“Get used to it. Under my captain, you’ll see a lot of results like these (laughs). We got a victory so we won’t talk much. Why did you give a stubbs bowling and all that. But after you lost four hickets inside PowerPlay, he was a big effort to get over the line.”
Axar Patel also said that Ultra-aggressively hitting the Indian Premier League began after introducing Impact players. He said:
“It started since last year because of the rules of players.

Axar Patel further stated that they had a poor ball in Powerplay, but had been well bouncing in the last few supplements. He stated:
“I thought with the way they played in the first six supplements. I thought we gave additional driving. And there were a catching catch there. But in the last seven accessories, we worshiped well. We made 40 running. It looked like it would come up to 240-250, but we pulled things very well.”
Axar Patel also gave a special shout to Vipraj Nigam because of his glow with a stick while running. He stated:
“We’ve been working camp from last week. Everyone knows the potential to each other. We thought I had nothing to have.
How did DC play in the previous IPL match against LSG?
In their previous IPL match against Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals achieved a strong comprehensive effect on May 14, 2024 to ensure a 19 -run win.
First, hitting, DC faced early failure while Jake Fraser-McGurk fell on the duck. However, Abishek Porel (58 off 33) and Shai Hope (38 off 27) interpreted LSG bowlers on the back leg. He ran up to fifty balls, helping DC reached 73/1 in PowerPlay.
Subsequently, Rishabh Panto scored 33 runs, while Tristan Stubbs played explosive scams (57* off 25) to lead DC to a total of 208/4.
With the ball, DC was early as Ishant Sharma (3/34) dismantled the highest order of LSG, removing KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock and Deepak Hood within five additions.
Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav also contributed to key breakthroughs, reducing LSG to 101/6, despite Nicholas Mear to fight 61 of 27 balls.
Even while Arshad Khan (58* off 33) launched a late attack, DC -taps held their nerve and limited LSG to 189/9. With this victory, DC finished his league campaign at Visoko, scoring his seventh victory in the season.
