UCF suspends 2 fraternities in response to accusations of harassment

The investigation is ongoing on University in Florida After two fraternities were suspended for serious accusations of harassment.

Central Florida University He suspended Sigma Chi and Delta UPSilon Fraternities after multiple reports of “dangerous and humiliating” harassment, said a school official in a statement that was divided with WKMG.

According to an incident report received by Orlando Sentinel, the Sigma Chi fraternity brothers were allegedly hit by a car promise as part of the harassment ritual.

The detective assigned to the case wrote in the report: “The Sigma Chi brothers allegedly forced new members to stand in front of the car while the organization members hit them with cars.”

Outlet revealed that Sigma Chi was a repeated offender at the UCF, after it was included eight times between 2015 and 2020, including four suspensions only in 2019. One of these incidents in 2019 included the allegations that the Brotherhood tied the eyes of the pledge and forced him to use cocaine.

National chapters have also temporarily suspended the UCF fraternity.
