Turkey was arrested 1,100 protesters and several journalists after the arrest of Erdogan rivals

Officials said on Monday that Turkish police had detained several journalists and more than 1,100 citizens who protested against the arrest of the Mayor of Istanbul Ekrem Imamglu, the chief political rival of President Erdogan. The arrest has drawn an international conviction and protests have spread to more than 55 of the 81 Turkish provinces.
