Trump issues executive commands engaged in wood production

Fox Business’ Kelly Saberi reports on how tariffs in Canada will affect the supply and production of American wood.
President Donald Trump On Saturday, they signed two executive commands that require immediately expanding American wood production and solving the threat of Lumber with import imports of national security.
The commands aim to update the guidelines on production, simplifying the permission and assessment of possible risks that imports represent national security.

Recent disasters, the administration noted, show the importance of managing forests and projects of fire reduction projects.

The White House official said American reliance on imports from these countries has increased eleven times in the last 30 years, despite the fact that they have now had an abundance of forest resources.

Trump’s Directive Directive on Howard Lutnick Trade Command to initiate a national security investigation into imports of US wood in accordance with Section 232. Law on Extension of the 1962 Store – the same law that Trump also used to impose tariffs on global imports of steel and aluminum. The investigation must be completed within 270 days.

The clerk said that any tariffs arising from the probe will be added to the existing 14.5% of the combined anti-dumping and anti-Subsidian duties on Canadian wood.
