Two prominent bodies of the crislette in Western India, Crickket West Indies (CWI) and the West Indies (WIPA) players Association were to evaluate security protocols and claims of harassment that outline the image of sports on the Caribbean islands.
The allegations of sexual harassment were presented during the campaign of the team at the T20 2020 Women’s World Cup held in Australia. As a result, the bodies of the cricket in the country decided to take measures.
CWI, WIPA to evaluate the request for harassment in West Indies Crime
In a joint statement, CWI and WIPA vowed to review all aspects of the safety and well -being of the player to protect their standards. Two panels aim to take a bold step towards the safety of women on the cricket team.
“WIPA and CWI will gather to review all aspects of players in the West Indies Crite. This common effort reflects our commitment to adhere to the highest standards of the player well -being of the player and ensuring that all protective measures remain robust and effective,” they said in a joint statement.
Both organizations claim that some bold steps have taken to ensure the safety of the player some new security measures have been introduced for women in 2021 and retained a provision to provide one bedroom accommodation for older women on their international tours since 2023.
These are some of the initiatives taken in a memorandum of understanding (Mou) from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2027. The current estimate also includes an overview of these specific measures.
CWI adheres to UNICEF
WIPA and CWI remain fully dedicated to the safety of the players and want to promote the culture of respect in their teams. The Committee also adheres to the UNICEF children’s protection policy to support its high standards.
“Furthermore, we implemented and strictly adhered to UNICEF children’s protection policies, ensuring that the minors never divide rooms with adults under any conditions. In addition, we ordered constant training for all officials to reinforce and support these standards.
“It will be a continuous assessment of all aspects of politics to deserve each player to feel safe, appreciated and fully focused on his career. Through this upcoming examination, we will continue to work on strengthening the protective measures and strengthening our unwavering support to all athletes,” the statement added.
Disappointed T20 World Cup 2020 West Indies
Windies did not have a great tournament in 2021 because they failed to secure a semi -final embroidery after they finished third in Group B behind South Africa and England. Windies ended with 1 win and 2 defeats in the group stage.
Meanwhile, Australia continued the title on its home soil. In the finals, they convincingly defeated India to start a new chapter of dominance in the women’s crisis.
West Indies will play qualifying for the World Cup from next month. The tournament should be held in Pakistan. The best two teams of the qualifying tournament will qualify for the IGA World Cup, which will be held in India in October 2025.
