The secret service shot a man during an armed conflict near the White House on Sunday, the agency announced.
The incident happened just after midnight, about a block away from the White House, on the west side of the Eisenhower Executive Affairs building.
In a statement, the secret service said that earlier on Saturday, police distributed information about the suicide individual who may have traveled Washington, DC, from Indiana.
