According to the lawsuit, Whitfield “unequivocally stated that the policy of an independent school district of Coppell is teaching teaching programs, violating state law and direction, using the funds and other resources of the Development and Distribution Resources to teach CRT.”
The lawsuit further states that Whitfield answered the question of whether the district would be in trouble for violating the law, saying, “We bypassed him, saying that we did not teach him.”

Commenting on his lawsuit, Paxton said that “Texas children deserve to receive the best education in the world, and did not awaken the ideology forced to them.”
“Liberal administrators who want to neglect state law and illegally push the division and a racist crt curriculum in the classrooms will be responsible for their actions,” Paxton said. “My lawsuit aims to stop immediately to stop this illegal and hate curriculum and immediately stop a sharp refusal to follow the state law of certain officials on Coppell ISD.”
