The execution of David Wood Texas delayed “until further notice”

The Texas prisoner Death Row David Leonard Wood, who was set for this week, stopped the Appeals in Texas on Tuesday.

Wood, 67, spent almost 33 years on Death Row and was supposed to die this week with a deadly injection because of the killings of six girls and young women found buried in the desert near El Pas. The court placed Wood’s execution on a break “Until a Further Order”, without elaboration in their order on three pages.

Six of the nine court members made that decision, FOX 4 News Dallas-Form Worth reported. Judge Mary Lou Kel and Gina Parker did not agree with the rest of Wood’s execution, and Judge Bert Richardson, who heard all Wood appeals at the first instance court since 2011, did not participate.

This was another delay for Wood, which was previously set up to execute 2009 when he was waiting for about 24 hours before the claim that he was intellectually disabled and therefore incompatible for execution. The judge later rejected these claims, and Wood was supposed to die on Thursday.

The 1987 murders remained unresolved for several years as long as the authorities say that wood boasted that he was the so -called “desert killer”. Victims’ bodies were found buried in shallow graves in the same desert area northeast of El dog.

Authorities announced that Wood gave the victims riding and then drove them to the desert where sexually attacked and killed them. The victims were Rosa Casio and Ivy Williams, both 23 years; Karen Baker, 21; Angelica Frausto, 17; Desiree Wheatley, 15; and Dawn Smith, 14.

Two other girls and young women were also reported that he was missing but they were never found.

Wood, a repeated convicted sex offender who worked as a mechanic, had long maintained his innocence.

“I didn’t do that. I’m innocent of this case. I’ll fight it,” Wood said in recent documents filed in his appeals.

Wood’s execution was second stopped in the USA Tuesday after the federal judge stopped the first execution of the death of Louisiane using a nitrogen gas, which was to be held next week.
