The Egyptian documentary is shown by young women floating on the “edge of dreams”

Majda, Monika and Heidi are part of the theatrical troops of panorama in the village of El Barsh, a small Coptic Christian community in the south of Egypt. While they design and perform performances on the street, the filmmakers Nada Riyadh and Ayman El Amir follow young women, who negotiate a moment between adolescence and adults, thinking about their fates and their dreams. “Brink of Dreams” won the œin d’Or award at the Cannes Film Festival. We talk to the director Nad Riyadh about the power of women’s solidarity, as the street theater changed mentality in the villages and the importance of cultural role models for women and girls in Egypt.
