The city of resorts in Arkansas is arguing over the title of the world’s shortest parade day of St. Patrick

But the city in Arkansas has gained popularity over the years with its parade for a completely different reason. The city of Hot Springs, a resort known for its waters rich in minerals, promotes its 98 -foot route as the shortest world parade of St. Patrick’s Day.
For more than two decades, the city has held a parade on Bridge Street, and has become one of its largest draws. This even attracted the attention of celebrities who participated in the annual, short event, including actress Valerie Bertinelli and Rap Icon Flavor Flavor.
As the parade started
Steve Arrison, CEO of Visit Hot Springs, said the idea began in 2003 when he and a group of friends were at a restaurant in the city center “Pio for Adult Beverages” and the topic of St. Patrick’s Day appeared.
“We have to talk and say, so why don’t we have a parade?” Said Arrison.
The parade started next year and attracted about 1500 people. More than 30,000 people look at the parade every year, the organizers say.
What is a 98 -foot parade?
For the shortest in the world, the parade is packed a lot. They will have 40 different boats, and participants will include 100 members of the Impersonant group Elvis Presley known as the international order of the marching march.
The second boat will contain the local chapter of the International Society of Helen Ropers, and the participants are dressed as a 1970 Sitcom character, “Three Companies”.
The parade also contained famous Grand Marshal and Parade Starter, and over the years she included famous names such as actor Kevin Bacon, the “Cheers” stars George Wendt and the Stars of Country Music Justin Moore. This year Bertinelli will be a big marshal and Flav will be an official starter.

Parade includes other events, including a concert and “Kissing Contest in Blaty Stone.” Before the parade starts on Monday, it is officially measuring the route.
