Officials said the investigation revealed that the newborn was a victim of an attack that caused her death. Police said the child had scratches and broken bones, among other injuries.

During the briefing for journalists shared by Pix11, the Police Detective of District Nassau Stephen Fitzpatrick said Rabanales-Prekzantzin admitted that he had abused his child.

“He confessed to us what happened to the child, how he physically abused him, how he felt that the child was not his own and that he did not respect or not want that child,” Fitzpatrick said. “He hit the baby around his head and face several times. He threw his baby to the ground.”

Officials found that Rabanales-Pretezantzin lived in a house with a 20-year-old mother of his children.

A one -year -old boy was removed from the house and transported to the hospital for estimating for any injuries.

Investigators believe that the mother was not involved in children’s abuse.

Rabanales-Prekzantzin was held on Thursday in the court of Nassau County and held without a bail.
