The incident happened shortly after throwing a coin when Tamim began to experience severe chest pain during the field.
After reporting discomfort, medical staff attended him in the field. Initially, he was transported to a specialized hospital and the Nursing House of the KPJ to an estimate, where he was subjected to an ECG. Despite feeling bad, Tamim tried to get back to the game, but experienced further pain in his chest on his way back to the field. He was then taken back to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had suffered a heart attack and performed an emergency angioplasty to remove the blockade in his coronary artery.
The current situation
So far, Tamim is under observation at the Phazilatunnes Hospital, where it is treated. Medical professionals stated that his condition stabilized after the procedure. The Bangladesh (BCB) Cricket Committee expressed deep concern for his health, and several committees visited him at the hospital. The scheduled meeting of the Committee for the day was also postponed because of this incident.
