BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia condemned Mohammed’s remarks, calling them “Very unhappy.” Saikia emphasized that such comments are not only derogatory, but it can also have a demonral effect on players, especially during key tournaments such as champion trophy. He expressed concern that these statements could influence the morality and performance of the team.
“Very unhappy that a responsible person gave such a trivial comment when a team is in the middle of such a key ICC tournament. This may have a demoralizing effect on the individual or team. All players occur to their greatest potential and are visible results. I hope that individuals will give up making such derogatory statements for personal publicity,” Saikia is quoted on NDTV.

Bharatiiya Janana (BJP) party criticized the congress party over Mohammed’s comments, drawing parallels with their election performance under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi. BJP pointed out that, although Rohit led India to significant victories, the Congress faced the election.
