Todd Grisham asked the former WBC champion and WBO Light Welterweight Ramirez (29-2, 18 ko) whether to target Haney’s beard after the way Ryan Garcia had lowered him several times in his previous fight in his previous fight on April 20.

The issue of Grisham was logical to ask for fun from Ramirez, who was overly polite all the time. Bill felt that the Grisham test line was not designed to make Devin look good.

He wanted Grisham to note that Haney was the youngest indisputable champion in a lightweight category and was ranked #9 on the updated pounds per kilogram. In other words, Bill wanted Grisham to consider compliments on Haney to make him a heroic and young superstar.

It’s not Grisham’s style. He is a guy who likes to knock a bear to arouse things, and Ramirez didn’t say anything interesting. So, he was trying to talk some conversations about the garbage.

“You see in the promotion that they always want to separate a black father and fighter,” Bill Haney said HUB TV fights.

At a press conference he was all right. What they try to do was not get a voice that would really say really in his corner [i.e., Bill Haney being on stage with Devin].

“They want to separate it and try to destroy the brand and will not succeed. On May 2, Devin will put Belt in ** Jose Ramirez, and I guarantee you that,” Bill said.
