Paulo Fonsec to stay as chief Lyon after supported by owner John Textor

Lyon owner John Textor supported Paul Fonsec to stay in his role as a coach after describing his close to a nine -month ban on touch lines as “obviously too serious.”
Fonseca handed over a sanction yesterday after pushing her head in the face of Benoit Millot’s referee during Sunday’s match with Brest.
The Portuguese approached the clerk in anger, while Var questioned Brest a request for punishment. The Spot-Darda is not given, but Fonsec has already lost control and has been neatly sent.
Football professional Ligue de announced his sanction yesterday, the ruling Fonsec will be forbidden to access the excavation, the locker room of the clerk and participation in any official functions before, during or after the games until November 30.
He is also forbidden to go to a team locker room, toar, tunnel and corridors leading to these areas up to 15 September.
Lyon immediately said he would complain, but there were also speculations that the club would look like to break ties with Fonsec, despite being appointed only at the end of January.
Paulo Fonseca provided the text support
The Textor, however, threw the back behind the former AC Milan chief, who was 52 yesterday.
Writing on Instagram, the American said, “Happy birthday to Paulo.
“I stand with you today and always. You made a mistake, your apology was honest, and your punishment obviously too much.
“You are a real man for ol and we will persevere. Allez L’Al!”
Fonseca will be on a touch line tonight in Romania
Lyon is sixth in Ligue 1, and tonight faces Steau Bukurest in Romania in the first part of his target Europa League of 16, a match in which Fonsec can normally perform his duties because his sanction is currently only applied to domestic games.
Speaking on Monday, Millot said he was shocked by the aggressive approach to Fonseci.
The official said to L’Equipe: “He jumped on me with a scary attitude, and I decided to send him directly. He continued the spiral from control.
“He had an even more intense attitude, trying to actually inflict a blow. The head. I did not have time to announce the final decision, which turned out not to award the sentence. There seemed to be a slight contact of the nose, precise.”
Longoria also in hot water
Fonseca’s actions complained on the heels that Marseille President Pablo Longoria was hit by a ban of 15 games for the comments he had given to Judge Jeremy Stinat.
Longoria objected that Stiintat was appointed in Marseille’s game against Auxerre, which they lost 3-0, accusing the “true corruption” after defender Derek Cornelius sent.
