“Not expecting Suyash Sayash Being Shane Warne” Rcb’s Andy Flower
Royal Challengers Bengalur (RCB) Chief Coach Andy Flower is convinced of the team attack for the IPL 2025 season. Andy Flower said that the young Kindergarten Suyash Sayash Sharma has huge potential, but warned fans that they did not expect results from him at this year’s tournament.
Royal Challengers will start its IPL 2025 campaign with return games in Calcutta and Chennai. RCB Spinners will be crucial for their success in the conditions adapted spin. However, there are questions about whether a team has enough power in its spin department to make an impact.
Suyash Sharma is a very exciting young perspective – Andy Flower
Andy Flower said Suyash Syash Sharma is a very exciting young perspective with limited experience. He admitted that he remained uncertain how he would perform during the full IPL season. Flower also added that Mohit Rathee is a spare option for Sharm.
“On the brunette front, Suyash is a very exciting young perspective with limited experience, but there is a really high ceiling. And Mohit Rathee to support him. You know, we are looking for great things from Suyasha, but none of us knows exactly how he will start in the full IPL season. And every young player is going that way,” Cvjet said.
RCB bought Suyash Sharma for 2.60 crowns at the IPL 2025 auction. The 21-year-old played for Kolkat Knight Riders (KKR) for two seasons. He took 10 Wickets in 11 matches in IPL 2023, but had limited opportunities in 2024. Spinner only played two games without taking Wickket.
Also we don’t expect him to be Shane Warne – Andy Flower
RCB’s main coach urged fans to manage their expectations regarding Suyash Sharma, saying he would not become a “Shane Warne” overnight. Flower stated that Suyash had potential, but added that his development would take time.
“He is rehabilitated after a recent groin surgery and that went really well. It was a longtime problem with the injury, which we identified during the off-season. And he had a really good care and attention from RCB. We hope for big things from him. But we also don’t expect, you know, Shane Warne added.
There are these experienced cries around her – Andy Flower
Andy Flower said the presence of experienced players around Suyasha, including a support captain, would help in development. Flower stated that Livingstone as a spare Spinner offers a team reliable option.
“We have to be patient and let him learn from his experiences. And it is good that he has these experienced cries around him and the captains he will be comfortable with. To support them, it is obvious that Swannil Singh was good for us last year. And Liam Livingstone does little.
The IPL 2025 season will start with a match between Kolkat Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengalur in Eden Gardens on Saturday, March 2nd. However, weather conditions could affect the Calcutta match.
