NFL News: Zach Wilson hopes to still start the opportunity

Former New York Jets Quarterback Zach Wilson is ready to accept a spare position in Miami, but he is not yet ready to accept the “passenger” title.

Former second total choice from Byu returned to AFC East in the off-season season with a one-year contract with Miami dolphins – The same division in which Wilson’s career saw as an initial striker in the NFL, closer to the end almost as quickly as it began.

Wilson, 25, traded after three turbulent seasons in New York, and did not see any action during the 2024 season with Denver Broncos as a third blow. He moved to a depth map in Miami, but for Wilson he hopes he can still return as a starter.

“I mean, I would like to see it otherwise,” Wilson told reporters on Monday when he asked if he was accepting “passenger label.”

“Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with being a traveler, but I still believe I can be a starter in this league whenever that opportunity comes. And so I’m just trying to put myself in the best situation with the best team and coaches and do absolutely best I can and, I hope, at some point you can get the opportunity to show what you can do.”

Wilson was in his second season with Jets, a move that would clean the way for a four -time MVP league Aaron Rodgers. But the injury to the season for Rodgers would give Wilson another opportunity.

Despite not turning him, Wilson said that time with Broncos had given him a time to develop and improve, and he hoped that his time in Miami would do the same.

“What does not like, right? Extremely explosive insults and I think they do a great job, and that starts from the coach [Mike] McDaniel and goes all the way down. I would just say that offensive staff as a whole did a great job. You saw how Tua [Tagovailoa’s] The development went because he was there, and I think I’m simply excited to be with these guys. “
