New York Government Hochul declares extraordinary conditions in response to fires to Long Island Brush
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul On Saturday, they declared an emergency as the crews fought against growing fires on Long Island.
The first fire began at about 1pm in central Moriches in Suffolk County before expanded and led to additional fires in East Moriches, Eastport and Westhampton. Fire in the center of Moriches, East Moriches and EastPort were extinguished, while the fire in Westhampton is 50% contained.
The Governor’s urgent state serves Suffolk district.
The national national guard has four water helicopters, and the C-130 aircraft supports air monitoring, the governor’s office announced. Numerous state agencies provide support, including the use of drones, traffic management and staff.

The State Emergency Management Office, the Office for Prevention and Control of Fire, the Ministry of Transport, the Environmental Protection Department, State Parks and New York State Police among the support agencies.
“We deploy resources as quickly as possible, and I mobilized our agencies, the National Guard and the State Police to provide support for air and country to ensure that we are guarding our Long Island,” Hochul said in a statement.
“I declared an emergency to provide resources immediately,” she continued. “This is an evolutionary situation, and the air quality is worrying – New Yorkers need to monitor the latest emergency warnings and prepare for evacuation if necessary.”
Hochul said that 100,000 N95 masks would be sent to the affected area on Sunday morning.

The Suffolk County Executive Director, Ed Romaine, said at a press conference on Saturday afternoon that a firefighter had suffered Burns on his face and flew to the Burn Hospital at the Stony Brook University, but the officials said they were working in line, according to CBS News.

Residents are not currently in the fire line, but officials warned that people nearby should be prepared in case the evacuations become needed.

The cause of the initial fire is currently unclear, but officials say that strong winds have helped him to expand.
The forecasts show that isolated winds of wind up to 40 miles per hour are expected by Sunday night. It was predicted that they would be immersed overnight before they picked up again on Sunday morning.
Between 30 and 40 mph in combination with dry fuels and low moisture levels will lead to a continuous risk of fire development over the weekend, according to CBS News. A little increase in moisture levels and a decline in wind speed will weaken the risk of fire for next week.
