Previously, they exhausted all appeals and did not hope for freedom until the new California law enabled hearing in extradition. Any reduction could make them immediately acceptable to conditional freedom.

The brothers killed their parents, Mary “Kitty” Menendez and Jose Menendez, with shots from behind in the Beverly Hills living room in 1989.

Her brother Milton Andersen was the only member of the family to publicly spoke opposition to their release. He died on March 3rd at the age of 90, according to his lawyer – just a few weeks before his nephews were expected to appear before the California judge.

“Milton Andersen was a dear and dear husband, father and grandfather,” RJ Driing lawyer told Fox News Digital. “He was honored to have served as Article 82. Aeronautical Division. Andersen has fiercely opposed the reduction of penalties for his nephews, and earlier told Fox News Digital that he did not believe in their claim of sexual abuse against their father.

Letter at the center of Menendez brother for freedom brought into question

He was survived by his wife, Sandra Rose Andersen, three children, 18 grandchildren and eight great -grandchildren.
