Marine Le Pen was found guilty in the EU EU Financing case
French Marine Le Pen has been found guilty of dissatisfaction with European funds for funding its party’s end right -wing party (RN).
The judge has not yet said what the punishment will be.
Prosecutors said last year that Le Pen sentence should only be € 300,000 (£ 250,000) penalties and prison sentences, but also inability to run for public function for five years.
Most importantly, he said that the inappropriateness should be initiated immediately – not to be suspended until the appeal expected to be filed if he was convicted.
This would be overlooked to her that she would run for President 2027.
The judges could also decide that they would not impose an automatic inability with their conviction, which would leave it free to stop in 2027 during the appeal proceedings.
The court could also give her a shorter deadline of automatic inconvenience – for example a year – allowing her to run.
Le Pen has been charged, together with more than 20 other personality of the older party, of hiring assistants who worked in their jobs of the RN party, not at the European Parliament who paid them.
During the trial last year, Le Pen denied that she had committed the “slightest irregularity”.
The reading of the verdict, which began shortly after 10:00 (09:00 BST), is expected to last up to two hours.
