These are four yellow cards of Lucas Paqueta that led to the fact that the midfielder West Ham accused FA of alleged violations of betting rules

The 27-year-old has been charged with offenses in four games in four Premier League games.

Paqueta did not put any bets and he denies any injustice.

FA accused him in relation to his behavior in the matches against Leicester in November 2022, Aston Villa in March 2023, Leeds in May 2023 and Bournemouth last August.

It is believed that the bets in question were set by friends and family, with a total of 60 bets for relatively small roles.

Half of the suspicious bets in the heart of the case was below £ 50, mostly below £ 100.

One was for £ 7, while one of the bets he put on a cousin, labeled “unusually large,” because he was $ 40 (£ 30).

Paqueta withdrew from the Brazilian team of this international window to be available for evidence at hearing.

His defense will claim that he has a bad disciplinary record in which the gamblers were aware, and therefore bets of yellow cards were placed on him.

Ever since he moved to West Ham in August 2022, he had received 22 yellow cards – more than anyone else in the club. In the same period, only five Premier League players showed more yellow tickets.

Paqueta will also claim that he asked not to play in the game against Bournemouth because he was close to joining Manchester City – so there could be no conspiracy that should be booked.

FA charge from 2024 states that Paqueta tried to “influence progress, behavior or any other aspect or occurrence in these matches so that it deliberately strives to receive a judge’s card for an improper purpose of influencing the betting market to make one or more people profit from the betting”

Paqueta has also been charged with two violations of F3 FA rules in relation to alleged failures in accordance with the F2 Rule, which relates to the provision of information and documents.

In a statement at the time, Paqueta said, “I am extremely surprised and upset that Fa decided to collect me.

“For nine months, I worked with every step of their investigation and provided all the information I could.

“I deny the accusations in full and I will fight with every breath to clean my name. Because of the underway, I will not give any further comment.”
