The Guwahati’s Barsapara Stadium should host home games of Kolkat Knight Riders against Lucknow Super Giants at the IPL 2025. The match was initially scheduled at the Eden Gardens KKR home in Kolkta, but in the last minute there is a change in the schedule.

Guwahati to host KKR’s home game against LSG
According to a report in the PTI, the match between Kolkat Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants 6th will be moved for safety problems in Calcutines on the occasion of Rama Navami, who is celebrated with love throughout the country.
“The IPL match between the KKRK -A LSG 6. April 6 should be switched from Calcutta to Guwahati after safety problems on the day of Ram Navami,” Caba President Snehashish Gangaly, who said the PTI, quoted.
Ganguly confirmed that BCCI had already been asked to delay this match, but it was not possible to change it in such a short time. He claimed that state police in Calcutta would not be able to provide appropriate security that day.
“We informed BCCI to raise the match, but later there is no room to reprogram the game in the city, and now I hear that it will be transferred to Guwahati,” CAB president mentioned.
“I had several rounds of conversations with the police in Kolkuta and said they would not be able to provide enough security that day. If there is no police protection, accommodation and management of a bunch of 65,000 people, it becomes impossible,” he added.
While Snehashhish Gangaly spoke about development, the official IPL statement has yet to arrive. It will probably be announced that there is no possibility except to host a match outside the calcite.
Guwahati to host Rajasthan Royals
Guwahati will host Rajasthan Royals who have opened two home games of the tournament, against Kolkat Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings 26 and March 30. Since KKR has already played the game before their home game against LSG, it will be better equipped for the conditions at the stadium.
The matches between the KKRKR -AI LSG usually attract a crowded audience due to the fact that the owner of LSG, a dreamy Goenko also owns a football team Mohun Bagan Super Giants, who has his own home base in Calcutta.
The upcoming match between these two teams would draw a full audience to the stadium and make it difficult for security figures to manage the crowd. So Guwahati has been chosen as an alternative place because it will already be ready.
Eden Gardens to host an IPL 2025 opener
Eden Gardens Kolkata will also host the Introductory IPL 2025 match between the KKR -RCB defenders on March 22. Before the match, there will also be a tournament opening ceremony at the stadium.
KKR won the IPL 2024 title by defeating Sunrizes Hyderabad in the finals. It was their third IPL title and the first in a decade. It was a fantastic season for Knight Riders because they were extremely dominant throughout the season.
