Judge’s command that blocks Trump’s transgender troops prohibition states ‘Hamilton’ musical
Federal judge named former President Joe Biden has blocked President Donald Trump Executive order prohibits transgender people to serve in the US army.

Reyes said she did not easily make her decision to issue a ban that blocked Trump’s command, noting that “the judicial exceeding is no less harmful than executive supervision.” However, she said, it is also a responsibility of every branch of the authorities to provide checks and balances for the others, and the court “therefore must act in order to support the same rights of protection that the army defends every day.”
Thousands of transgender people serve in the military, but they represent less than 1% of the total number of active service members, according to Associate Press.

Six service members and two people who wanted to apply for the army sued the Government in January for Trump’s executive order. About a dozen others, including nine people on active duties, has since joined the lawsuit. Their lawyers, from the National Lesbian Rights Center and the Joy of the Law, said that transgender troops “are looking for nothing more than the possibility of continuing to dedicate their lives to the defense of the nation.”
