James van der Beek explained this week That he is now in the “treated phase” of his cancer.

“I feel like I can see the target line. At the treatment phase, which is great. I’m going back to work next month. I’m taking this month to really relax.”
Father-six pointed out that during the fight for cancer he was forced to “look at his own mortality in the eye.”
“I had to bring my nose to the nose with death,” he remarked. “And all those definitions I cared so much of me were taken away from me.”

“I was in treatment, so I could no longer be a husband who was helpful to my wife,” Van der Beek continued. “I could no longer be a father who could pick up his children and put them in bed and be there for them. I couldn’t be a service provider because I didn’t work.”

During his Cancer tripThe actor admitted that he started questioning if he was “just too thin, a weak guy, alone in an apartment with cancer … What am I?”
The “Varsity Blues” star said he leaned against his faith at that moment.
“I am worthy of God’s love just because it exists,” said Van der Beek. “And if I am worthy of the love of God, shouldn’t I also be worthy?”

“As I move through this healing portal to recovery,” Van der Beek said, “I wanted to share it with you because that revelation that came to me in a small part was all the prayer and love that was directed toward me.”
He continued: “I certainly do not claim that I know what God or explained to God, my efforts to connect with God are a process that is ongoing that is a permanent mystery to me.
“But if it is a trigger that feels too religious, you can draw the word of God in your mind and it can simply be” I am worthy of love. “Because you are.”
