An elderly man was killed and four more people wounded in what the police said he was a terrorist attack in the northern Israeli city of Haifa.
It happened on the central train and the Hamifratz bus station, and the attacker was shot by security guards at the scene, police reported.
The victim who died was about 70 years old, an ambulance said Magen David Ada. The 15-year-old boy and a man and a woman in her 30s were in a serious condition, while the 70-year-old woman was moderate, she added.
Police later said that the striker of Israel was a man of the city of Shfarama who had recently returned from abroad. Such an attack of a member of the Israeli community of Druze is rare.
Comrade is an ethnic and religious group whose faith is the extract of Shiite Islam. About 150,000 live in Israel and occupied Golan altitudes, which accounts for about 1.5% of the population.
The witness told the Walla News to the Israeli website that the attacker traveled to Haifa to a bus from Shfarams, which is about 10 km (6 miles) east of Haifa.
He started stabbing passengers when the bus arrived at the station, then came down and attacked others on the competition, the witness said.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “My wife Sara and I are referring our deepest condolences to the family of a man who was killed in a shocking terrorist attack in Haifa.
“We will continue to fight everywhere against those who want to kill us and we will beat them.”
There was no immediate claim of any armed groups, but Hamas described the attack as a “heroic” and “natural response” to what he called Israeli crimes against Palestinians.
It comes in the midst of the downtime between Hamas and Israel because of movement forward with a six -week gauze for a truce.
Israel stopped helping to enter Gaza after Hamas refused for which Netanyahu’s office said that the US proposal was to extend the first phase, which ended on Saturday night.
Hamas accused Israel of stopping the agreement and saying that the second phase should go forward as agreed.
