Hinson, Rickketts develop a double -sided proposal of the law to protect the American supply chain from the Chinese Communist Party

Hinson, R-Iowa, will present the Law on Insurance of US Agriculture in the House of Representatives, while Rickketts, R-Neb., Will introduce that measure to the Senate.

Providing the US Agriculture Law requires the Ministry of Agriculture (USDA) to carry out an annual assessment to identify the vulnerability of the supply chain, domestic disadvantages in the production and potential exploitation of the CCP.

He would also instruct the Secretary of Agriculture to recommend how to strengthen the relief on the United States and the reduction of China’s influence in the industry to alleviate potential threats.

The draft would ensure that USDA explains USA’s US dependence on China for critical agricultural inputs and guarantees access to US manufacturers.

“China has deliberately won a significant market share of American agricultural inputs – which is vital to our food supply chain – creating an impact on our best opponent,” Hinson told Fox News Digital on Tuesday. “First -hand farmers said that if China decides to close us to this critical inpuna, our food production was at risk.

Hinson added, “Plain and simple: we should bring our chain of supply to agriculture home.”

And Rickketts told Fox News Digital on Tuesday that “the strategic control of communist China over the key sectors of our food chains and agricultural supply is a serious threat to national security.”

“Loss of approaching key investments could reduce productivity, increase food prices and undermine food safety,” Rickketts told Fox News Digital. “My account will strengthen and protect these supply chains and reduce our reliance on foreign opponents.”

The proposal of the Law is also supported by a member of the Chinese Committee of the Home of Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill, who said that a double-sided proposal of the law “is a critical step forward in protecting the food supply and farmers of our country from foreign opponents, including the Chinese Communist Party, threatening our agricultural security.”

“American farmers are the backbone of our economy and we must ensure that they have resources and protective measures needed to compete in equal ground, while providing chains of the agricultural supply of our country,” Krishnamoorthi told Fox News Digital.

The proposal of the law is also supported by the Chairman of the Board of China John Moolenar, R-Mich.; Tail, jill otherwise, d-hawaii; Ambassador Sharice Davids, D-Kansas; and Rev. Scott Franklin, R-Fla., Among others.

In Senate, Democratic Senator Elissa Sloodkin; Republican Sens. James Risch, R-Idaho; Shelley Moore Capito, RW.V.; Eric Schmitt, R-Mo.; Mike Crapo, R-IDAHO; Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo; Senator Deb Fischer, R-Neb.; And the majority Senate whip John Barrasso, R-Wyo., also support the proposal of the law.
