Former Indian crisquet Harbhajan Singh gave an amazing remark to the Knight Riders (KKR) coaching staff. Harbhajan said that the main coach of Chandrakant Pandit and mentor Dwayne Bravo have two different personality and lifestyle, adding that one wakes up at 5am, while the other leaves to sleep at 6am.
Knight drivers named Dwayne Bravo for their mentor after Gautam Gambhir went to become the Indian team coach. Previously, Bravo worked as a bowling coach for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Bravo is known for its relaxed Caribbean attitude, while Pandit is known for its strict discipline.

Speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, Harbhajan Singh jokingly pointed out a difference between Chandrakant Pandit and Dwayne lock. Singh pointed out that contrasting figures in the franchise coaching staff could significantly affect the performance of the team in the IPL 2025.
“These are two completely different figures – one that wakes up at 5am and the other who goes to sleep at 6 am. So, we will have to see how they combine and work together,” Harbhajan said to ESPN Cricinfo.
Knight Riders Kolkat was undergoing major changes in their auxiliary staff after leaving Gambhira, Abhishek Nayara and Ryan Tenchate after the IPL 2024 season.
In addition to changes in coaching installation, the defenders also named the veteran dough of Ajinkya Rahane for their new captain. The triple IPL champions chose Venkatesha Iyer as Vice -President.
Rahane’s best opportunity to hit is on number 3 – Harbhajan Singh
The Knight Riders retained most of their core compared to the previous season, although they released Shreyas Iyer and Nihish wounds.
The franchise successfully responded to Rahmanullah garbaz, Venkatesh Iyer and Angkrish Raghuvanshi at auction. Key players like Rink Singha, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine are retained.
Harbhajan Singh said that management would be challenging to determine the position of hitting Ajinkya Rahane. He said that number 3 may be the only sustainable place for Rahane, because the team already has striking forces like Venkatesh Iyer, Rinko Singh and Andre Russell in the middle and lower rows.
“Rahane will have to fight what is his role and position in this line. The KKR has a lot of strokes down the row – Venky Iyer, Rinko Singh, Andre Russell – so he can’t hit there. The best chance for Rahane is at No. 3, because the openers are fixed,” Harbhajan Oprie.
Harbhajan Singh calls into question the decision of KKR to appoint Ajinkya Rahana for Captain
Harbhajan Singh has questioned the decision of Kolkat Knight Riders to name Ajinkya Rahane for the captain. He stated that Rahane could be useful if Kkr loses his wound Wicket, but hitting after 12-13 over Mark will not fit his style of the game.
“If Krkr chose Rahane only for the captain, then I think the job could do someone else, like Narina, Russell or Venky. If Kkr loses his wound Wickket, they can see a role for Rahane. But if he has to hit after 12-13, that is not his strength,” he added.
Knight Riders will start his Indian Premier League 2025 campaign with the season opener against Royal Challengers Bengalur (RCB) to Eden Gardens on Friday, March 2nd.
