Gene Hackman will exclude children and leave a wealth of $ 80 million for a deceased wife
The will of the legendary actor Gene Hackman has been published, but uncertainty lingers for his wealth of 80 million dollars (£ 62m).
The double winner of the Academy Award left his entire estate to his wife Betsy Arakawa. The couple was found dead in their home in New Mexico February.
Although Hackman’s three children have not been appointed at his will, they will still have a request for his property under state laws.
But they should prove that the will is invalid because Arakawa died for a week before Hackman, said a legal expert in the BBC. His children did not publicly comment on the will.

Legal documents received by the BBC Show Hackman, 95, called Arakawa, 65, as his only user in 1995, with the latest will of will in 2005.

He said that if the alternative user was not appointed in his trust, the estate could miss his children according to the Laws of Sukcession.
“The property will actually be examined in accordance with the Laws on the Succession of the gut, and the children will be legally as follows in order to inherit,” he said.
Mr. Lovell added that if Hackman’s children cause the will, they should prove that it is invalid because Arakawa died before him.
Arakawa’s own will left her property with Hackman, with a provision that if he died within 90 days from each other, her estate would go into confidence and later be donated to charity after covering medical expenses.
Hackman discussed his relationship with his children in the past.
“You become very selfish as an actor,” he told the New York Times in 1989. “Although I had a family, I took over a job that would separate us for three or four months at once. Taking temptations, money and recognition, there was too much for a poor boy in me.”
Hackman’s children, although rarely in public, occasionally attended the events on the red carpet.
In another interview, Hackman spoke about the difficulties his children grew up with a parent who was constantly in the spotlight.
“It’s hard to be a son or daughter of a celebrity,” he told the Irish Independent in 2000. “I couldn’t always be with them as they grew up, and then, living in California, my success always hung over my head.”
His daughters and grandsons expressed a deep affection for him after his passing.
“Millions around the world have been loved and admired for his great acting career, but for us he was always only a dad and grandfather,” they said. “We will miss very much and is devastated by the loss.”
