Villach knife attack leaves teenagers dead and four
The teenager died and four people were wounded in a knife attack in Austria.
It happened around 4:00 pm Local Time (15:00 GMT) near the main square of Villach, the southern town near the border with Italy and Slovenia.
The victim was 14, and the suspect was Syrian asylum seeker, who was detained, the AFP news agency reported, citing a police official.
“The man randomly attacked passers -by with a knife,” said police spokesman Rainer Dionilio for AFP.
The delivery worker who was driving his vehicle at the attacker helped prevent multiple injuries, said the ORF police spokesman for the Austrian national email.
Police did not rule out another striker involved, Orf added.
The show said two of the four injured people were in serious condition.
Any motive or connection between Nofeman and five victims are not yet known, although the ORF reported that the police had been surveyed.
Governor Peter Kaiser of Corinte – the region in which Villach is located – described the attack as a “unimaginable crime.”
