Enrico Cardile: Ferrari in a legal victory to postpone the start of the former technical boss in Aston Martin | F1 news
Ferrari won a legal case in Italy, which prevents Enrico Cardile from starting work at Aston Martin as their new main technical director until July 18th.
Scuderia announced last July that Cardile had handed over his notification as their chassis director after 20 years on the team, and Aston Martin confirmed a day later that Cardile “would join the 2025 team” in a newly created technical role.
In a statement of Ferrari on Tuesday, the Italian team said that the Modena Court “a few weeks ago” ruled that Cardile had “violated the obligation with Ferrari” and had to “immediately cease any form of cooperation with Aston Martin” until the garden of gardening ended.
“In connection with the recent news, Enrico Cardile in Aston Martin, Ferrari explains that a few weeks ago, a court of models, supporting the company’s demands, ordered Enric Cardile to immediately cease any form of cooperation with the Aston Martin Aramco F1 team until the next July.
“In this emergency procedural phase, the Modena Court found that our former employee had already violated the non -concurrent obligation with Ferrari, whose purpose was to prevent other F1 teams from gaining an unjustified competitive advantage by employing Cardile earlier than allowed, which caused the unbearable damage to Ferrari.
Aston Martin said in a statement: “This is a matter between Enrico and Ferrari and their legal representatives in Italy, and the parties are still dealing with the process.
“As such, we will not give any further comment. We will announce in the near future.”
On Monday, Aston Martin greeted the legendary designer Adrian Neweya to the team for the first time after crossing the Red Bull.
Newey joined as a management technical partner, and signing is a huge state blow to the team, as they offer to take advantages of the great overhaul of the F1 2026 rules to compete on the front of the net for the largest sports awards, when they will first be powered by Honda Works Engines.
Former Mercedes engine guru Andy Cowell, who joined the team last October, took over the main responsibility of the team ahead of the new season, except for the role of the executive director of his group.
Aston Martin finished fifth in the constructor championship in each of the last two seasons, although they aimed for fresh improvement this year after scoring a third of the points as compared to 2023 last season.
