At least 16 members of Syrian security forces were killed Thursday in conflicts with militants associated with the mitigated Bashara Al-Assad regime, according to the Monitor group, in one of the worst eruptions of violence since the new administration in the country under the temporary President Ahmed al-Shara came to power.
