Connecticut stepmother arrested after being captured for 20 years

The man allegedly captured stepmother for 20 years intentionally lit their home in Waterbury, Connecticut, Last month to escape, police said.

Pastor told the police that he had deliberately lit up the upstairs room, saying, “I wanted my freedom.” He claimed that Sullivan had captured him since he was 11 years old.
Police launched an investigation in cooperation with the State of Waterbury and found that Pastor was indeed kept trapped for over 20 years.

Investigators found that Pastor had endured “prolonged abuse, starvation, difficult neglect and inhumane treatment.”
He was found in “hardly exhausted condition and during that time he did not receive medical or dental care,” and gave him “only minimal amounts of food and water, which led to his extremely malnourished state.”

Sullivan’s arrest warrant is Tuesday, and officials took her to custody on Wednesday. She is confronted with a series of charges, including a first degree attack, a second -degree abduction and an illegal first -degree restraint.

Sullivan was awarded a court on Wednesday, where the bond was appointed at $ 300,000. It will be housed in custody of the Connecticut repair department, Waterbury police said in a statement.

This case has demanded a ruthless investigative effort, and I commend the dedication of our officers and lawyer’s lawybury,” said Waterbury Police Chief Fernando Spagnolo. “Their unwavering obligation ensured that justice be served, and the perpetrator is fully responsible for these horrific crimes.”
