Only two teams were able to stop the seemingly relentless Chelsea in the women’s super league this season.
Before Brighton’s wonderful efforts on Sunday to keep Chelsea on the draw of 2-2, Leicester City was the only side to stole the champion point.

“When you play a team like Chelsea, the only thing you can do is get the result,” said Leicester chief Amandine Miquel Sky Sports.
“The pressure is more of them to miss something. The state of mind was really important for players to defend themselves together.”
“We focused a lot on defensive aspects. It definitely helped us in that last game of the first phase because we were really a strong defense. We were a team that received very few goals and defended ourselves well in the block.
“So we were something we built through the games to get against Chelsea, knowing that there was no pressure on us. We were lucky to achieve one of our rare attacks, which brings a big difference against Chelsea.
“And then when you lead against Chelsea, it gives the players energy. It’s so unusual, but I think it gives an elevator to any player who leads against Chelsea and makes you want to keep it as much as you can, and we almost have done it.”
Miquel’s side took over the lead just over 50 minutes against Chelsea. Missy Goodwin gave foxes advantage before Wieke Kaptein Chelsea replied late to restore the point. What is crucial, Leicester scored his only goal on the target.

Like Chelsea and former head of Lyon Sonia Bompastor, Miquel took over this summer after running in France and spent seven years in Reims. Known with Bompastor from their conflict in France, Miquel is not shocked by its influence.
“Bompastor has a hate to defeat,” Miquel said Sky Sports.
“Even lines, and it’s unusual for her. Even loss of points for them, I think they need three days to get back from it. So they are very upset because of the first game.
“I expected she would do what she did because she trained Lyon, so we played her in similar situations with a great team, with great individuals. And when you have these kinds of players and you manage to have a clear game and relationship plan, then it’s much easier.”
